Tailored to your vision

Before you’ve even reached out to a Designer, you’ve probably spent a lot of time thinking about the garden you’d like to come home to. That’s why we don’t throw rushed, ‘off-the-shelf’ designs at you and call it a day. We value your input, and work with you to understand your needs, personal style, and ideas.

The design process

1. initial Consultation

We’ll come to you for a 1 – 1.5 hour meeting to discuss your overall vision, lifestyle factors, style preferences and budget. We always work within your means, and want to incorporate your ideas as much as possible. A detailed design brief will be emailed to you after our meeting, together with a design fee estimate.

2. Site analysis

Great design comes from detailed observation — an understanding of your site's unique terrain is essential to create a thriving outdoor space. Current house and site survey plans will be used to draft an accurate base plan. This is then followed by a comprehensive on-site analysis, where all design opportunities, constraints and site-specific information is noted.

3. Concept design

Your concept design includes the overall layout of the space with all hardscape elements, such as paving, decking, retaining walls, seating, pergolas, pools and planting areas shown. Once the concept is presented, you’ll have a chance to digest everything at your own pace. We’re always open to feedback and changes, so an additional meeting can be arranged if amendments are required.

4. Final Plans

When you’re happy with the design concept, we’ll prepare the final drawings. These will be unveiled at a final presentation and include:

  • A design layout plan with all levels, surface finishes, built structures, dimensions and lighting

  • a planting and tree plan, with accompanying species schedule

  • detailed soil preparation and planting notes

  • elevations and sketches as required

With your final tick of approval, we’ll introduce you to one of our preferred, highly-experienced landscaping partners. Your Landscaper will manage the installation from start to finish. Or, if you’re DIY savvy and like a challenge, you may decide to take on the project yourself!

Plant Recommendations

Perhaps you’re not looking for a complete design package, but are unsure of what to plant and where, or just want some helpful styling advice. If the overall structure of your garden is already in place, our Plant Consultation service may be a great fit for you.

We will meet with you at your property to discuss the areas that need attention, brainstorm potential options, and prepare a comprehensive plant species schedule. You’ll also receive detailed soil and planting notes, all of which will be emailed to you following the meeting.

Commercial projects

Naturesque also provides a consultation service for developers and commercial property owners and has been involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of private and public sector proposals. These include residential developments, commercial sites, road reserves, public open spaces and playgrounds with nature play elements.

We are well versed in land development requirements at a range of scales and can provide you with a comprehensive set of landscape plans. These carefully resolved designs not only heighten the aesthetic and ecological value of your site, but create a unique user experience and selling point, with the added bonus of a smoother approval process.
